Project Timeline

After nearly a decade of work on the DPW Tanks Project, parts of the lakeshore and promenade are now open for interim use. Meanwhile, Recreation & Parks continues advancing the larger park design, working closely with DPW, the Department of Transportation (DOT), and state agencies to meet environmental and permitting requirements.

Major milestones include:

  • Vision Plan (2021): 10-month community-driven design process
  • Schematic Design: tested the plan’s feasibility and guided interim park construction
  • Design Development (Current): refining details for budget, phasing, and community input
  • Construction Documents: final drawings and engineering for construction
  • Construction: builds the first phase — promenade, bridges, restored stream valley, and event spaces

Progress will continue through design and funding phases until the lake’s full reopening.
