Project Funding Status

Funding the Next Chapter

The Druid Lake redesign is a Baltimore City Recreation & Parks initiative and has already secured major public investment:

• $17 million – Maryland State Bond Bill (FY23)
• $926,000 – Maryland Program Open Space
• $2.6 million – City Capital Funds through FY26
• Additional State funding requested; additional City funds planned for FY30

These investments have advanced the design to nearly 100% Design Development, with Phase 1 construction expected to begin as early as late 2026 or early 2027.

To bring the full vision to life — including new lake islands, promenade bridges, daylighted streams, swimming and boating access, and major event infrastructure — additional support will come from local, state, and federal sources, as well as philanthropic and non-profit partnerships.
