- What is the cost for the redevelopment of Druid Lake? BCRP’s budgeting estimates have varied greatly since the Vision Plan in 2021.
- How will it be paid for? Engineering and design efforts are being paid for ____. Construction of phase 1 is partially funded. Include publicly approved information - approved funding dollars.
- When will the lake’s promenade reopen to the public for biking and walking? The walking loop is open. Additional loop will open Summer/Fall 2025 (upon DPW’s completion).
- What other recreational activities are planned at the lake? Will there be a cost? BCRP is still working to determine the programming and recreational opportunities for the park and lake areas. Future public input opportunities will help guide those decisions.
- Is the project on schedule? When will the Lake be open to the public? BCRP’s engineering design and construction schedule can be found on this website here. The construction of this project has not yet begun, but progress will be updated on this website as well.
- What are the plans for improving pedestrian access to the lake for neighboring communities? BCRP has coordinated with DPW and DOT to add a pedestrian crossing at the Eutaw St. - Druid Park Lake Drive intersection. See DOT’s Complete Streets effort here for information about their Druid Park Lake Drive project.
- Will the public have an opportunity to provide input on plans for Druid Lake? Yes. Initial public input can be found here for reference. Additional public input opportunities will be posted here.
- Where can I find more information about Druid Lake improvements? This website has most information related to the project. Upcoming public meetings will be posted on this website. BCRP contacts are also available here.
- How can I get involved? See “Share Your Story” and “Take the Survey” tabs on this website to share your input!
- Will the lake be open year-round? BCRP is still working to determine the programming and recreational opportunities for access to the actual body of water. However, the park and pathways will be open year round.
- Will Druid Lake remain a drinking water reservoir once restoration is completed? No. The drinking water supply is now secured in the underground storage tanks.
- Who is responsible for improvements at Druid Lake? DPW has completed the water tanks and basic park restoration. BCRP is working on the recreational aspects surrounding the lake.
